Enabling RSVP menu button
Learn how to add a prominent RSVP button to your navigation menu so guests can easily respond to your wedding invitation.
Want guests to easily find your RSVP page? You can add an RSVP button directly in your navigation menu! This makes it super convenient for guests to respond to your invitation.
What the RSVP menu button does
Adds an RSVP link to your navigation menu.
Stands out visually. Often styled as a button rather than a plain link.
Links to your RSVP page. Guests click it to respond.
Customizable text. Change what the button says.
Requirements
This feature requires:
A paid plan with RSVP features. Standard or Pro plan.
If you're on the Basic plan, you'll see a message to upgrade instead of the toggle.
How to enable the RSVP menu button
- Go to Site in your main navigation
- Click on the settings icon to open Site settings
- Click the Menu tab at the top
- Scroll down to find Display RSVP link in menu
- Turn the toggle on
- The button text field appears below
- Optionally customize the RSVP link text (defaults to "RSVP")
- Click Save changes at the bottom
An RSVP button now appears in your navigation menu!
Customizing the button text
After enabling the toggle, you'll see the RSVP link text field.
Default: "RSVP"
Custom examples:
- "RSVP by March 1st"
- "Respond Here"
- "Let Us Know"
- "Reply"
- "RSVP Now"
The text can be anything you want! Just keep it short enough to fit in the menu.
Where the button appears
The RSVP button appears in your navigation menu alongside your page links. Depending on your theme:
Right side: Often appears on the far right, styled as a button
In line with links: Might appear as a regular menu link
Highlighted: Often has special styling to stand out (like a background color)
Your theme controls the exact appearance!
Button vs. regular link
The RSVP menu button is often styled differently than regular navigation links to make it stand out. It might have:
Background color (usually your accent color)
Button shape (rounded corners, padding)
Hover effects (color changes when hovering)
This makes it obvious where guests should click to RSVP!
RSVP link destination
The button links to your RSVP page or form. This is typically:
A dedicated RSVP page on your site
Or your RSVP section if you have RSVP on your homepage
The system automatically knows where to send guests!
Disabling the RSVP menu button
To remove the RSVP button from your menu:
- Go to Site settings → Menu tab
- Find Display RSVP link in menu
- Turn the toggle off
- Click Save changes
The button disappears from your navigation!
RSVP menu button vs. RSVP page link
RSVP menu button: Special styled button (this feature)
RSVP page in navigation: Regular link to your RSVP page (managed in Navigation links section)
You can have:
- Just the button (turn off the page link)
- Just the page link (turn off the button)
- Both (button stands out more, page link is there too)
- Neither (RSVP is only accessible via scrolling or direct link)
Most people use just the button for a clean look!
Timing considerations
Before RSVP deadline: Enable the button so guests can respond
After RSVP deadline: Consider disabling it so guests don't keep RSVPing
After the wedding: Definitely disable it, guests don't need to RSVP anymore
You can toggle it on and off anytime!
Including the deadline in button text
If you want to add urgency:
"RSVP by March 1st"
This reminds guests of the deadline right in the button!
To do this:
1. Enable Display RSVP link in menu
2. In the RSVP link text field, type: "RSVP by March 1st"
3. Save
The button text updates!
Mobile experience
The RSVP button appears in mobile menus too! On mobile, navigation usually collapses into a hamburger menu, and the RSVP button appears in that expanded menu.
Test on mobile to make sure it's easy to find and tap!
Button styling
You can't directly control the button's color or styling through this setting. The appearance is controlled by your theme's design.
To change colors:
- Adjust your theme's accent color (in Site settings → Design tab)
- Or use custom CSS if you're comfortable with code
Multiple call-to-action buttons
You might have multiple buttons in your menu:
- RSVP button (this feature)
- Check-in button (separate feature)
- External link buttons (if styled as buttons by your theme)
Make sure your menu doesn't get too crowded!
Accessibility
The RSVP button should be easy to find and click:
High contrast: Button should stand out from the background
Large enough: Easy to tap on mobile
Clear text: Obvious what the button does
Test with friends or family to ensure it's intuitive!
Analytics
When guests click the RSVP menu button, it's tracked in your site analytics (if you have tracking enabled). You can see how many guests are using the button to access RSVP!
After wedding use
After your wedding, you probably want to:
- Disable the Display RSVP link in menu toggle
- Remove RSVP from your site entirely
- Or keep your site as a memory without the RSVP functionality
The button is easy to turn off when you don't need it anymore!
Enabling the RSVP menu button makes it super easy for guests to find and submit their responses, increasing your RSVP rate and reducing confusion!
