Editing page background

Customize the color or image that displays behind your page content to create unique visual styling.

The page background is what shows behind your content. You can use a solid color, an image, or get creative with how background images display. This gives each page its own unique look!

What you can customize

Background color: A solid color behind everything.

Background image: A photo or pattern behind your content.

Image size: How the background image scales (cover, contain, original size, etc.).

Image position: Where the image sits (top, center, bottom, etc.).

How to edit page background

  1. Go to Site in your main navigation
  2. Find the Pages section
  3. Click on the page you want to edit
  4. Look for Background settings (might be under design or styling)
  5. Upload an image, choose a color, and adjust size/position settings
  6. Click Save changes

Uploading a background image

When you upload a background image:

  1. Click the background image field
  2. Choose a file from your computer
  3. Upload it
  4. Configure how it should display (see below)
  5. Save

The image appears behind your page content!

Background image size options

Cover: Image scales to cover the entire page. Might crop parts of the image.

Contain: Entire image is visible. Might leave empty space.

Original size: Image displays at its actual dimensions, might tile if it's small.

Stretch: Image stretches to fill the space (can distort the image).

The best choice depends on your image and desired effect!

Background image position options

Top: Image aligns to the top of the page.

Center: Image centers vertically and horizontally.

Bottom: Image aligns to the bottom.

Left/Right: Image aligns to the left or right side.

Custom: Some themes let you specify exact positioning.

Position matters most when your image is larger than the page or doesn't cover the whole space!

Tips for background images

Keep it subtle. Busy backgrounds make content hard to read.

Use patterns. Repeating patterns tile nicely and don't distract from content.

Check contrast. Make sure your text is readable against the background.

Test on mobile. Backgrounds look different on phones.

Optimize file size. Large background images slow down your site. Compress them!

Background color

If you're not using a background image, or want a color behind your image:

  1. Find the background color field
  2. Click the color picker
  3. Choose your color
  4. Save

Solid colors are simple, load fast, and never distract from your content!

Removing a background image

To go back to a solid color or transparent background:

  1. Edit the page settings
  2. Find the background image field
  3. Click remove or delete
  4. Choose a background color (or leave it default)
  5. Click Save changes

Different backgrounds for different pages

Each page can have its own background! Your home page might have a photo, your travel page a solid color, and your events page a subtle pattern.

Or keep them all the same for consistency. It's your choice!

Background vs. header image

Background: Shows behind the entire page content.

Header image: Shows just at the top of the page.

They're separate! You can use one, both, or neither.

Theme compatibility

How backgrounds display depends on your theme. Some themes support all the size and position options, others are more limited. Experiment to see what works with your theme!

Fixed vs. scrolling backgrounds

Some themes let backgrounds stay fixed while content scrolls over them (parallax effect). Others scroll the background with the content. Check your theme's options!

Customizing page backgrounds lets you create distinct looks for different parts of your wedding website!
