Setting guest list (A-list/B-list)

Learn how to organize your guests into A-list (must invite) and B-list (hope to invite) categories to manage venue capacity and stagger invitations strategically.

The A-list and B-list feature helps you prioritize your guest list. It's a common planning strategy, especially when you're working within venue capacity limits.

What A-list and B-list mean

A-list - "Must invite." These are the guests you absolutely want at your wedding.

B-list - "Hope to invite." If space and budget allow, you'd love to have them there too.

How to set it

  1. Go to Guests in your main navigation
  2. Click on the guest
  3. In the Details tab, you'll see radio buttons for A-list and B-list
  4. Select the one that fits
  5. Click Save guest

By default, new guests don't have a list assigned.

How to use this in practice

Here's a common approach:

  1. Add everyone you'd want to invite to your guest list
  2. Mark your must-haves as A-list
  3. Mark your nice-to-haves as B-list
  4. Send invites to your A-list first
  5. As A-list guests decline, invite B-list guests to fill those spots

RSVP restrictions

If you're using online RSVPs, you can restrict your RSVP form so only A-list guests (or only B-list guests) can access it. This is useful if you want to stagger your invitations. You can configure this in your RSVP settings.

Filtering by list

You can filter your guest list to show only A-list or B-list guests. The filter is available in the Filter guests sidebar.

Tips

No judgment here. Having a B-list doesn't mean those people matter less. It's just smart planning when you have a venue with limited capacity.

Guests don't see their list assignment. This is completely private to you and your planning team.

You don't have to use it. If you're not worried about capacity, skip this feature entirely.
