Editing couple names

Customize how your names appear on your website, including each partner's name and the delimiter between them.

Your names are probably the most important part of your wedding website! You can customize how they appear, including each partner's name and what goes between them.

What you can edit

First partner: First name and last name fields on the left.

Second partner: First name and last name fields on the right.

Delimiter: The field between the two names (defaults to "&" or "and" depending on your font settings).

Your names update throughout your site!

Choosing what to display

Full names: "Emily Rodriguez and Jordan Kim"

First names only: "Emily and Jordan" or "Emily & Jordan"

First and last: "Emily and Jordan Kim" (if you're taking the same last name)

Nicknames: "Em and J" if that's your vibe

However you want to be known!

Name delimiter options

The delimiter is what goes between your names. Common choices:

and (the classic)

& (short and sweet)

+ (math-y cute)

(heart symbol)

| (modern and clean)

with ("Emily with Jordan")

Some couples skip it entirely and just use a space!

Name order

Traditional: Sometimes there are traditions about whose name goes first.

Alphabetical: Pick based on what sounds better.

Personal preference: Go with what feels right to you!

There's no wrong answer. It's your wedding!

How names appear

Once you set them, your couple names typically show:

In the site header or title

On the home page

In page titles or meta tags

In navigation (sometimes)

Your theme determines exactly where names appear!

Capitalization

You can usually style your names however you want:

Title Case: "Emily and Jordan"

ALL CAPS: "EMILY AND JORDAN"

lowercase: "emily and jordan"

Though most themes work best with standard title case!

Special characters

Want to use accents, symbols, or special characters? Most systems support them!

Accents: "André" or "José"

Symbols: "Em♥J" or "Emily + Jordan"

Emojis: Some couple use emojis (test to make sure they display correctly!)

Length considerations

Keep it reasonable. Super long names might not fit in some spaces on your site.

Test on mobile. Long names might wrap weird on phones.

Abbreviate if needed. "Elizabeth and Alexander" could become "Liz and Alex".

Name vs. title

Couple names: Your actual names ("Emily and Jordan").

Site title: Could be different ("Our Big Day" or "The Rodriguez-Kim Wedding").

These are usually separate settings!

Updating after you're married

If you change your names after the wedding, you can update your website:

  1. Edit the couple names settings
  2. Save
  3. Your site updates with your new names!

Some couples keep their website as a memory with their pre-wedding names. Others update. Your choice!

Multilingual sites

If you're running a multilingual website, you might be able to set names differently per language. Check your language settings!

Where else names appear

Beyond your website, your couple names might also appear:

In ecards (save-the-dates, invitations)

In emails sent from your site

In URL or subdomain (though this is usually set separately)

Check each area to make sure names are consistent!

Editing couple names is usually one of the first things you do when setting up your wedding website. Make it yours!
