How do I use sides (bride/groom)?
Tag guests as belonging to the bride's side or groom's side for organization and seating.
Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan
Short answer: Assign a side to each guest in their profile - this helps with filtering, seating, and keeping lists organized.
Assigning sides
- Go to Guests and find the guest
- Click to edit their details
- Find the Side field
- Select Bride's side, Groom's side, or Both
- Click Save
When importing guests
Include a "Side" column in your import spreadsheet:
- Use "Bride" or "Groom" (check the template for exact values)
- Guests without a side assignment can be updated later
Using sides
Once assigned, you can:
- Filter your guest list by side
- View counts for each side
- Export side-specific lists
- Balance seating between sides
- Send emails to one side only
Common values
- Bride's side - Bride's family and friends
- Groom's side - Groom's family and friends
- Both - Mutual friends or shared connections
- No side - Vendors or others who don't fit
Tips
- Sides help balance seating at the reception
- Some couples assign sides to households rather than individuals
- You can still seat people together regardless of side
- Sides don't affect how guests RSVP or receive invitations
- Consider using "Both" for mutual friends you both knew before meeting
