How do I share my website in a specific language?

Share a direct link to a specific language version of your wedding website, RSVP form, or ecard.

Plan requirement: Pro plan

Short answer: Add ?lang= followed by the language code to the end of any URL. For example, yourwedding.wedsites.com?lang=fr opens the site in French.

Adding the ?lang parameter

Append ?lang= and the language code to any URL on your wedding site:

  • Website: yourwedding.wedsites.com?lang=es
  • RSVP form: yourwedding.wedsites.com/rsvp?lang=fr
  • Ecard: yourwedding.wedsites.com/ecard/abc123?lang=ja

This works with any language you've added in your language settings.

Important note about guest preferences

When a guest clicks a link with ?lang=, their preferred language is automatically updated to that language. This means all future visits and communications will be in that language. Only share language-specific links intentionally.

When to use this

  • Sharing your website URL on social media or messaging apps for a specific audience
  • Sending a direct RSVP link in the right language
  • Testing your translations quickly

Tips

  • The language must already be set up in Settings > Languages
  • Use the same language code shown in your language settings (e.g., en, fr, es, ja)
  • If the URL already contains a ?, use &lang= instead of ?lang=
  • You can also let guests choose their language from the language menu on your site
