Guest details you can edit

Basic info

First name - The guest's first name (this is the only required field).

Last name - Their last name.

Photo - Click Add photo to upload a picture of this guest. Accepts PNG, GIF, or JPEG. If you want to remove it later, click Delete photo.

Email address - Their email. Each guest can have their own email address, even if they're in the same household. This is useful for sending individual communications. If the guest doesn't have their own email but their household has one on file, you'll see it as a placeholder. If there's a formatting issue with the email, you'll see a note saying "There is a formatting error with this email address."

Phone number - Their phone number. Like email, each guest can have their own phone number. If they don't have one but the household does, you'll see it as a placeholder.

List

Choose which list this guest belongs to:

  • A-list - "Must invite" guests. These are the people you definitely want there.
  • B-list - "Hope to invite" guests. If space or budget allows, you'd love to have them.

Side

Pick which side of the couple this guest is associated with:

  • Both sides - Friends of both partners, or you just don't want to pick
  • [Partner 1] side - First partner's guests
  • [Partner 2] side - Second partner's guests

The side names match whatever you've set as your couple names in your wedding settings.

Group

Assign this guest to a group. Groups help you organize guests by circles (like "College friends", "Work colleagues", "Family"). Select from the dropdown or choose No group.

Age category

  • Adult
  • Child
  • Infant

This helps with headcounts and meal planning.

Dietary requirements

Type in any dietary needs like "Vegetarian", "Gluten-free", or "Nut allergy". Leave it blank or type "None" if they don't have any.

Alternate spelling

If the guest's name has an alternate spelling (useful for place cards or printed materials), enter it here. The placeholder says "(optional)" and there's a note: "Full name, one per line." You can add multiple alternate spellings, one per line.

Preferred language

If you have multiple languages set up for your wedding, you can assign a preferred language for this guest. This affects which language version of your ecards and communications they receive.

Notes

Click Add note to show the notes field. This is a private field just for you and your planning team. Use it for things like "Seat near the dance floor" or "Bringing his new partner." Click Remove note to hide it again.

Saving your changes

Click Save guest when you're done. Your changes are saved instantly.

Tips

You don't need to fill in everything. A first name is all that's required. Add other details as you learn them.

Use notes for internal reminders. Guests can't see notes, so feel free to write whatever helps you plan.

Check the placeholder text. If a field shows a value in lighter text, that's coming from the household. The guest will inherit that info unless you type something different.
