Duplicating a section to another language
Learn how to copy a section to other languages when you add new content after setting up your multilingual site.
When you add a new section after your languages are already set up, it only exists in the language you created it in. This article explains how to duplicate it to your other languages.

When you need this
When you first add a language, all existing sections are automatically duplicated and translated. But any new sections you create afterward only exist in the language you're working in.
To have a new section appear in other languages, you need to duplicate it.
How to duplicate to another language
- Go to Site in your main navigation
- Find the section you want to duplicate
- Click on the section to open it
- Look for the Duplicate or Copy to language option
- Select the target language
- The section is copied to that language
- Edit the duplicated section to translate its content (or use auto-translate)
What happens when you duplicate
- A copy of the section is created in the target language
- The copy has the same content as the original (in the original language)
- You can then edit the copy to translate it or use auto-translate
- The two versions are independent after duplication
Using Auto translate (beta) after duplicating
After duplicating a section:
- Switch to the target language
- Open the duplicated section
- Click Auto translate (beta) to translate the content
- Review the translation and rewrite in your own words where needed
- Save your changes
We recommend always personalizing auto-translated content to make your site feel more authentic.
Sections are independent
Once duplicated, each language version is completely independent:
- Editing one doesn't change the other
- You can modify the layout differently per language
- You can delete one without affecting the other
This lets you customize content for each language audience.
Tips
Duplicate before translating. Create the section in your main language first, then duplicate to other languages.
Use auto-translate. After duplicating, auto-translate saves time compared to manual translation.
Check all languages. When adding new sections, remember to duplicate them to all your languages so guests see complete content.
