How do I create households?

Group guests into households so families and couples can RSVP together and receive shared communications.

Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan

Short answer: Create a household first, then add guests to it, or add existing guests to a household from their guest details page.

What is a household?

A household groups multiple guests who:
- Live at the same address
- Should receive one invitation together
- Will RSVP as a unit (one person can respond for everyone)

Common households include married couples, families with children, and roommates.

Creating a new household

  1. Go to Guests > Households
  2. Click Add household
  3. Enter a household name (usually the family name like "The Smiths")
  4. Add the mailing address if needed
  5. Click Save

Adding guests to a household

When adding a new guest:
1. Click Add guest
2. Fill in their details
3. Click Add to existing household
4. Select the household
5. Click Save

For existing guests:
1. Find the guest in your list
2. Click to edit their details
3. Find the household field
4. Select or create a household
5. Click Save

Tips

  • One email per household means fewer emails sent
  • The head of household typically RSVPs for everyone
  • You can have households of one person
  • Household addresses are used for mailing stationery
  • Children are usually added to their parents' household
