Editing a maps section
Embed interactive Google Maps to show venue locations and help guests find directions to your events.
Maps sections let you embed Google Maps on your wedding website. This is perfect for showing guests where your venue is located.
What you can do with maps sections
Show your venue location on an interactive map.
Help guests find directions right from your site.
Display multiple locations if you have different venues for different events.
Let guests interact with the map to zoom and explore.
Adding a maps section
- Go to Site in your main navigation
- Click Add a new section
- Choose Map (beta) from the list
- Enter your venue address
- Click Save changes
Fields you can edit
Address: The location you want to show on the map. Enter the full address of your venue.
That's it! The map will automatically display the location based on the address you enter.
How the map works
When you enter an address, Google Maps finds that location and displays it on your site. Guests can:
See the location pinned on the map.
Zoom in and out to see the area better.
Switch to street view if they want to see what the location looks like.
Get directions by clicking through to Google Maps.
Tips for using maps
Use the full address. Include street address, city, state, and zip code. The more complete the address, the more accurate the map.
Test it. After adding the map, make sure it's showing the right location. Sometimes similar addresses can confuse the map.
Consider privacy. If your venue is at someone's home and you want to keep the exact address private until closer to the wedding, you might want to wait to add the map.
Use one map per location. If you have a ceremony at one place and reception at another, add two separate map sections.
Why it's beta
Maps are marked as beta because we're still improving them. They work great, but we might add more features or make changes based on how people use them.
If you run into any issues with maps, let us know!
Address doesn't work?
If the map isn't showing your location correctly:
Double check the address. Make sure it's spelled right and complete.
Try a slightly different format. Sometimes "Street" vs "St." makes a difference.
Search the address in Google Maps first to see how Google formats it, then use that exact format.
Use a nearby landmark. If your exact venue doesn't show up, try the address of a well-known place nearby.
Editing an existing map
- Go to Site in your main navigation
- Click on the maps section
- Update the address
- Click Save changes
The map updates to show the new location.
Customizing maps sections
You can also customize:
Space above and below: Adjust padding around the map.
Map size: You can customize the width.
Privacy: Make the map visible to everyone or just certain guests.
Alternative to maps
If you don't want to use an interactive map, you can:
Add a link to Google Maps in a button or paragraph section.
Include the address in text and let guests copy it into their GPS.
Use a place section to share venue info with a link to the venue's website.
Maps are super helpful for guests, especially those traveling from out of town. They make it easy to find your venue without any confusion!
