Browser and device compatibility

Works on all modern browsers and devices, including phones, tablets, and computers, all without compatibility issues.

WedSites works on all modern browsers and devices. Guests and couples can access wedding websites from phones, tablets, and computers without compatibility issues.

Supported browsers

WedSites works with all modern, up-to-date browsers:
- Chrome (recommended)
- Safari (Mac and iOS)
- Firefox
- Edge (modern Chromium-based version)
- Brave
- Mobile browsers on iOS and Android

As long as you're using a current version of these browsers, you'll have the full WedSites experience.

Browser updates matter

Keep your browser updated. WedSites uses modern web technologies that work best on current browser versions.

Old, outdated browsers (like Internet Explorer) aren't supported. If someone complains about your website not working, first question is usually "are you using an updated browser?"

Mobile devices

WedSites works perfectly on smartphones and tablets:
- iOS (iPhone, iPad) using Safari or Chrome
- Android phones and tablets using Chrome or other mobile browsers
- Various screen sizes from small phones to large tablets

The responsive design automatically adapts to each device.

Desktop and laptop computers

All modern computers work fine:
- Mac (macOS) using Safari, Chrome, or Firefox
- Windows PCs using Chrome, Firefox, or Edge
- Linux machines using Firefox or Chrome
- Chromebooks

Operating system doesn't matter as long as the browser is current.

What "works" means

"Working" means:
- Your wedding website loads and displays correctly
- All interactive elements function (buttons, forms, navigation)
- Images and videos display properly
- RSVP forms submit successfully
- The website builder dashboard functions fully (for editing)
- Visual design appears as intended

Mobile vs. desktop editing

While you can edit your website from mobile devices, the full editing experience works best on larger screens (tablets or computers).

Building a website on a phone is technically possible but not ideal. The interface is designed for larger screens where you can see more content at once.

Guests viewing your website on phones works flawlessly. Just do your editing on a proper computer for the best experience.

Touch vs. mouse

The interface works with both touch (phones/tablets) and mouse/trackpad (computers). Touch-optimized interfaces appear automatically on touch devices.

Internet connection requirements

You need an internet connection to access WedSites, as there's no offline mode. Any connection speed works, though faster connections make uploading photos and editing more pleasant.

Guests visiting your wedding website need internet connections too, but the site is optimized to load quickly even on slower mobile connections.

JavaScript required

WedSites requires JavaScript enabled in your browser. Almost all browsers have JavaScript enabled by default. Only people who've specifically disabled it for privacy reasons will have issues.

If someone can access normal modern websites (Facebook, Gmail, etc.), they can access your WedSites website.

Cookies and storage

Like most websites, WedSites uses cookies and browser storage for:
- Keeping you logged in
- Remembering preferences
- Analytics and tracking
- Security features

If someone has cookies completely disabled, some features might not work properly. But this is extremely rare. Normal browser settings work fine.

Pop-up blockers

Pop-up blockers shouldn't interfere with WedSites functionality. The platform doesn't use pop-ups for essential features.

Screen readers and accessibility

WedSites aims for accessibility, though not all aspects may be perfectly optimized for screen readers or assistive technologies.

If you have guests with accessibility needs, test your website with relevant assistive technologies to ensure they can access your information.

Printer-friendly

Wedding websites can be printed from browsers if guests want physical copies of information. Browser print functions generally work, though you might need to adjust print settings for optimal results.

Email client compatibility

Digital invitations and RSVP emails work with all major email clients:
- Gmail
- Outlook
- Apple Mail
- Yahoo Mail
- Mobile email apps

Email formatting is tested across clients to ensure consistent display.

What about old devices?

If someone's using a very old phone or ancient computer, they might have trouble. But if their device is recent enough to run current browser versions, WedSites will work.

You can't reasonably support devices from 10+ years ago. Encourage guests with extremely old technology to use a friend's device or computer to RSVP.

Testing your website

Preview your website on different devices before sharing:
- Check on your phone
- View on your computer
- Ask family/friends to test on their devices
- Verify RSVP form works on mobile

Most issues that appear are browser problems (outdated versions) rather than WedSites compatibility issues.

Technical minimums

Realistically, any device from the last 5-7 years running current browser versions will work fine. That covers the vast majority of your guests.

When someone reports problems

If a guest reports your website doesn't work:
1. Ask what browser they're using
2. Check if their browser is updated
3. Try a different browser
4. Clear browser cache
5. Contact WedSites support if the issue persists

Usually, updating their browser solves the problem.

No special requirements

Guests don't need to:
- Install apps
- Create accounts
- Enable special permissions (beyond standard browser permissions)
- Have specific software installed

Just visit the URL in a modern browser. That's it.
