Understanding budget progress

Learn how to read the budget widget on your planner dashboard to track your spending against estimates.

The budget widget on your planner dashboard shows you how your wedding spending is tracking against your estimates.

Plan requirement: Pro plan

What you see

Donut chart - Shows three things:
- How much you're over or under budget (the difference between estimated and actual)
- How much budget remains
- Color-coded: green means you're under budget, rose means you're over

Bar chart - Breaks down spending by category (Venue, Catering, Photography, etc.) showing the difference between estimated and actual costs for each.

What the numbers mean

  • Estimated total - The sum of all your estimated costs
  • Actual total - The sum of all your actual costs (from payments and manual entries)
  • Difference - Estimated minus actual. Positive means under budget, negative means over budget

Tips

Keep estimates and actuals updated. The widget is only as accurate as your data. As you book vendors and make payments, update your budget items.

Don't panic about being over in one category. You might be over on flowers but under on music. The total is what matters most.
