How do I send ecards in multiple languages?

Send ecards to guests in their preferred language.

Plan requirement: Pro plan

Short answer: Create translated versions of your ecard, then send the appropriate version to guests based on their language.

Creating multilingual ecards

  1. Create your ecard in your primary language
  2. Duplicate the ecard
  3. Translate the content to the second language
  4. Repeat for additional languages
  5. Name each version clearly (e.g., "Invitation - French")

Assigning guest languages

  1. Go to Guests
  2. Edit each guest's profile
  3. Set their preferred language
  4. This helps track who needs which version

Sending the right version

When sending ecards:
1. Select the language version
2. Send to that group
3. Repeat for each language

What to translate

  • All text on the ecard
  • Wedding date format (varies by language)
  • RSVP button text
  • Any email message accompanying the ecard

Viewing an ecard in a specific language

You can view any ecard in a specific language by adding ?lang= followed by the language code to the ecard URL. For example, adding ?lang=fr to the end of the URL will display the ecard in French.

Note: When a guest opens an ecard link with ?lang=, their preferred language is automatically updated to that language.

Tips

  • Have a native speaker review translations
  • Date formats differ by language/culture
  • Keep design identical, only change text
  • Track which guests received which language
  • Match ecard language to website language
  • Use ?lang= to quickly test each ecard in different languages
  • When testing, open ecard links in a private/incognito window so the preferred language applies correctly (your logged-in session overrides it)
