Editing custom header logo

Add or customize a logo or graphic in your website header to replace or complement your couple names.

Want to add a special logo or custom graphic to your site header? A custom header logo appears in place of or alongside your couple names, adding personality and branding to your wedding website!

What is a custom header logo?

A custom header logo is an image that appears in your website header, usually:
- In place of your text-based couple names
- Above or below your couple names
- In the navigation bar
- At the top center of your site

It's a visual identifier for your wedding website!

Why use a custom logo?

Unique branding. Create a cohesive look across all your wedding materials.

Visual interest. An image can be more eye-catching than plain text.

Match your stationery. Use the same logo from your save-the-dates and invitations.

Wedding hashtag. Display your hashtag as a designed graphic.

Monogram. Show off your combined initials in a beautiful design.

How to add a custom header logo

  1. Go to Site in your main navigation
  2. Click the settings icon to open Site settings
  3. Click the Header tab at the top
  4. Find the Display names in header toggle and make sure it's turned on
  5. Below that, click Upload custom header logo (540px width)
  6. Select your logo file (PNG, GIF, JPG, or SVG)
  7. Click Save changes

Your logo appears in the header!

Creating your logo

Design tools: Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or hire a designer

Keep it simple. Complex logos don't always scale well

Readable text. If your logo includes text, make sure it's legible at small sizes

Vector if possible. SVG or high-res PNG for crisp display

Logo design ideas

Monogram: Your initials in an elegant design

Names + date: "Emily & Jordan | 05.15.2026"

Hashtag: Your wedding hashtag in a pretty font

Illustrated: Custom illustration of you two

Minimal: Simple rings, heart, or meaningful symbol

Floral: Names surrounded by botanical elements

Logo file requirements

Format: PNG (with transparent background) or SVG

Size: At least 400px wide for clarity

Transparent background: So it works on any header color

Aspect ratio: Horizontal logos work best for headers (3:1 or 4:1 ratio)

File size: Under 200KB for fast loading

PNG vs. SVG

PNG:
- ✓ Works everywhere
- ✓ Easy to create
- ✗ Can look fuzzy when scaled
- Best for: Photos or complex designs

SVG:
- ✓ Scales perfectly at any size
- ✓ Smaller file size
- ✗ Not supported everywhere
- Best for: Text-based or simple graphic logos

Try PNG first! It's simpler and widely supported.

Logo size and positioning

Your theme usually controls:

Size: How big the logo appears

Position: Left, center, or right in the header

Padding: Space around the logo

Some themes let you adjust these, others have fixed settings. Check your theme options!

Logo with text vs. logo only

Logo + couple names: Shows both your logo and text-based names

Logo instead of names: Logo replaces text entirely (cleaner look)

Depends on your theme and what looks better!

Mobile display

Your logo might display differently on phones:

Smaller: To fit the narrower screen

Repositioned: Moved to fit mobile layout

Hidden: Some themes hide logos on mobile in favor of text

Test on mobile to see how it looks!

Removing your custom logo

Don't want a logo anymore?

  1. Go to Site settingsHeader tab
  2. Click Delete above the logo preview
  3. Click Save changes

Your site goes back to displaying text-based couple names!

Updating your logo

You can change your logo anytime! Maybe you:
- Got a better designed version
- Want to match new invitations
- Changed your mind about style

Just upload the new image and save!

Logo vs. favicon

Header logo: Shows in your website header (large, prominent)

Favicon: Tiny icon in browser tabs (16x16 pixels)

They're different! You can use the same design for both, but you'll need two different file sizes.

Common mistakes

Too complex. Intricate details get lost at smaller sizes.

Wrong orientation. Vertical logos don't fit well in horizontal headers.

Text too small. Make sure any text in your logo is readable.

Huge file size. Slows down your site. Compress your image!

Not transparent. Logo has a white or colored box around it (use PNG with transparency instead).

Testing your logo

After uploading:

  1. View your site to see how it looks

  2. Check alignment with other header elements

  3. Test on mobile to see if it scales well

  4. Try different pages to ensure it appears consistently

  5. Ask for opinions! Fresh eyes help

Where else to use your logo

If you've created a custom logo, use it on:
- Your save-the-dates
- Invitations
- Wedding programs
- Thank you cards
- Signage at your venue
- Social media

Consistency across all materials looks super professional!
