How do I set an RSVP deadline?
Set a date to display on your site and trigger reminder emails.
Plan requirement: Standard or Pro plan
Short answer: Go to Settings and set your RSVP deadline date. This date is displayed on your site and controls when reminder emails are sent.
Setting your deadline
- Go to Settings in your main navigation
- Find the RSVP deadline field (next to your wedding date)
- Select your deadline date
- Click Save changes
Choosing a deadline
Typical timing:
- 2-4 weeks before wedding: Gives you time to finalize numbers
- 3-4 weeks before: If you need counts for caterers earlier
- 6-8 weeks before: For destination weddings requiring travel planning
What the deadline does
The deadline date:
- Displays on your site so guests know when to respond by
- Controls when RSVP reminder emails are sent (if enabled)
Note: The deadline does not automatically close the form. To stop accepting RSVPs, you'll need to toggle off Enable RSVPs in your RSVP settings.
Extending the deadline
If you need more time:
1. Go to Settings
2. Change the RSVP deadline to a later date
3. Send reminders to non-responders
4. You can extend as many times as needed
Tips
- Send reminders 2 weeks and 1 week before the deadline
- Give yourself enough time after the deadline to chase non-responders
- Coordinate with your caterer's final count deadline
- Account for buffer time after your deadline before vendor deadlines
- You can always manually add responses after the deadline closes
