Resizing section width

Control how wide sections appear on your page by choosing from full-width, narrow, or custom width options.

Most sections on your wedding website span the full width of the page. But sometimes you want something narrower or more focused. That's where width options come in!

What you can do with section width

Make sections narrower for a more contained look.

Keep sections full-width when you want edge-to-edge content.

Match your design style. Different widths create different vibes.

Draw attention to specific content by making it narrower.

Changing section width

  1. Go to Site in your main navigation
  2. Click on the section you want to resize
  3. Find the Width dropdown
  4. Choose your preferred width
  5. Click Save changes

Width options

Use the increase/decrease arrows on a section to change its width:

Full width: Section stretches across the entire page.

3/4 width: Slightly narrower than full, with some breathing room on the sides.

1/2 width: Half the page width. Great for side-by-side sections.

1/3 width: A comfortable reading width. Great for text.

1/4 width: Quite contained. Makes the section feel more focused.

When to use different widths

Full width works great for:
- Image sections
- Dividers
- Background colors that you want edge-to-edge
- Hero sections at the top of your page

Medium or narrow works great for:
- Paragraphs and text blocks
- Headings
- Buttons
- Forms (like RSVP)
- Any content that's easier to read when it's not stretched super wide

Tips for using width

Text is easier to read when it's narrower. Really wide lines of text are hard for eyes to track. If you have a lot of text, go with medium or narrow width.

Images can go full width. Especially big beautiful photos.

Be consistent. If you make one paragraph section medium width, consider making them all medium width for a cohesive look.

Preview on different devices. Width settings might look different on phones vs. computers.

Your theme matters. Each theme handles width a bit differently. Play around to see what looks best with your theme!

Combining with other settings

Width works well with other section settings:

Space above and below can balance out a narrow section.

Background colors look different at different widths.

Alignment (left, center, right) affects how content sits within the width you choose.

Resetting to default

Most themes have a default width for each section type. If you've changed it and want to go back:

  1. Edit the section
  2. Look for the width dropdown
  3. Choose the original setting (or experiment until it looks right)
  4. Click Save changes

Width is a small detail that makes a big difference in how your site feels!
