Setting up your wedding details
Tell us about yourself and your partner so we can personalize your wedding dashboard.
After signing up, you'll go through a quick setup wizard to get your dashboard ready. It only takes a couple of minutes.
Step 1: Your name and role
The first screen asks you three things:
Choose an icon. Pick one of four avatar icons. This shows up next to your name in the dashboard and is just for fun.
What's your name? Enter your first name.
Which best describes you? Choose the option that fits:
- "I'm getting married!" if you're one of the people getting married
- "I'm a wedding planner" if you're a professional planner setting this up for a couple
- "I'm helping out with the wedding" if you're a parent, friend, or someone helping the couple plan
Click Continue to move on.
Step 2: Your partner's name
What you see next depends on the role you chose:
If you selected "I'm getting married!", you'll see "And who's this lucky person you're getting married to?" Enter your partner's first name and click Continue.
If you selected "I'm a wedding planner" or "I'm helping out", you'll see "Whose wedding are you setting up?" Enter both partners' names and click Continue.
Step 3: Wedding date
You'll see "Have you decided on a date?" with a date picker.
If you know your date, enter it and click Set wedding date. This helps us:
- Generate a personalized checklist with tasks scheduled around your date
- Set your RSVP deadline to one month before your wedding
- Show a countdown on your dashboard
If you haven't decided yet, click Not yet to skip this step. You can always set your date later in Settings.
What gets created for you
After completing setup, WedSites automatically sets up a few things:
- A personalized wedding checklist (if you entered a date)
- Default guest groups for each partner's family and friends
- Your unique wedding website subdomain
