Importing households from CSV
Learn how to upload household names, addresses, and country codes from a CSV file to quickly populate your household list from existing spreadsheet data.
If you have your household data in a spreadsheet, you can import it into WedSites using a CSV file. This is the fastest way to get addresses and household names into the system.
How to import
- Go to Guests > Households
- Click the Upload button at the top
- Click Select file and choose your CSV file
- Click Continue
- WedSites processes the file and creates your households
Getting your CSV ready
Download the template
Click Download sample on the import page to get a pre-formatted template. Fill it in with your data and upload.
Supported columns
| Column name | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name / Household | Household name (required) |
| Address | Mailing address |
| Country code | Two-letter country code (e.g., "US", "GB", "AU") |
| Gift received | Gift tracking info |
What happens during import
- Households are created with the names and addresses from your file
- Country codes should be two-letter ISO codes (like "US" for United States, "AU" for Australia)
- Existing households with the same name won't be duplicated
Tips
Use the template. It's the easiest way to make sure your columns are formatted correctly.
Country codes matter. Use standard two-letter country codes. If you're not sure, check the country dropdown in the app for reference.
Add guests separately. This import only creates households. You'll need to add guests to them afterward, either manually or through the guest import.
