Editing a link section
Add simple clickable text links to pages, external websites, email addresses, or phone numbers without the visual weight of buttons.
Link sections add clickable text links to your wedding website. They're simpler than buttons and work great for inline links or lists of resources.
What you can do with link sections
Add text links that go anywhere.
Link to other pages on your site or external websites.
Create resource lists with multiple links.
Keep links simple without the visual weight of buttons.
Adding a link section
- Go to Site in your main navigation
- Click Add a new section
- Choose Link from the list
- Fill in the link details
- Click Save changes
Fields you can edit
Link text: What the link says. This is what guests will click on.
Link URL: Where the link goes. Can be a page on your site or any external URL.
Open link in a new tab: Check this if you want the link to open in a new browser tab instead of replacing your current page.
Link text ideas
Direct and clear: "View our photo gallery", "RSVP here", "Hotel information"
Action-oriented: "Read our story", "See the venue", "Book your room"
Resource names: "Downtown parking map", "Airport shuttle schedule", "Weekend itinerary"
Keep it clear what happens when someone clicks!
Where links go
Other pages on your site: Use page slugs like /travel or /schedule.
External websites: Full URLs like https://www.example.com.
PDFs or files: Links to downloadable files you've uploaded elsewhere.
Email addresses: Use mailto:email@example.com to open someone's email client.
Phone numbers: Use tel:+1234567890 to enable click-to-call on mobile.
Opening in new tabs
Check Open link in a new tab if:
- You're linking to an external website
- You want your wedding site to stay open
- You're linking to a PDF or file
Leave it unchecked if:
- You're linking to another page on your own site
- You want the link to replace the current page
Link vs button
Wondering when to use a link instead of a button?
Use a link for:
- Lists of resources
- Inline links within content
- Secondary actions
- Multiple links in a row
Use a button for:
- Important calls to action
- Primary actions you want to stand out
- Single, prominent links
Links are more subtle. Buttons draw more attention.
Creating link lists
Want to share multiple related links?
Add multiple link sections in a row. Each one appears as a separate line.
Keep them related. If you're linking to hotels, make them all hotel links. Don't mix hotels and restaurants in the same list.
Consider a heading. Add a heading section before your links to introduce them.
Tips for using links
Test every link. Click them yourself to make sure they work.
Keep text short. Long link text gets hard to read. Keep it to a few words if possible.
Make it clear. Guests should know what they'll see when they click.
Update broken links. If a website changes or moves, update your link.
Common uses
Additional info: "See our full weekend schedule", "View detailed directions"

Downloads: "Download venue parking instructions"
Contact info: "Email us with questions"
Editing an existing link
- Go to Site in your main navigation
- Click on the link section you want to edit
- Update the link text or URL
- Click Save changes
Changes appear on your site right away.
Customizing link sections
You can also customize:
Space above and below: Adjust padding around the link.
Colors: Link color usually comes from your theme, but you might be able to customize it.
Alignment: Some themes let you center or align links differently.
Privacy: Make links visible to everyone or just certain guests.
These options are in the section editor.
Email and phone links
Email links: Use mailto:your.email@example.com as the URL. When guests click, their email app opens with your address filled in.
Phone links: Use tel:+12345678900 as the URL. On mobile, guests can click to call you directly.
Both are super convenient for guests!
Link sections are simple but useful. They let you connect guests to all the resources and info they need without cluttering your site with big buttons everywhere.
