Deleting a wedding account
Learn how to permanently delete a wedding account and what data will be removed.
If you need to remove a wedding account entirely, you can delete it yourself from the settings. This is permanent and irreversible for that wedding.
How to delete your wedding account
- Go to Settings in your main navigation
- Click Account
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- Click Delete account
- On the confirmation page, type the word DELETE in the text field
- Click Delete my account
Your account and all its data will be permanently deleted. You'll be redirected to the WedSites homepage.
Before you delete
Wedding account deletion is permanent:
- All data for that wedding will be removed
- This cannot be undone
- Make sure you've exported any data you want to keep
What gets deleted
When a wedding account is deleted:
- That wedding website goes offline permanently
- All guest data, RSVP responses, and planning data for that wedding are removed
- The subdomain becomes available for others
- This cannot be undone
What doesn't get deleted
If you have multiple wedding accounts under your user account:
- Your other wedding accounts are not affected
- Your user account remains active (unless this was your only wedding account)
- You can still access and manage your other weddings
Deleting one wedding account only removes that specific wedding.
Tips
Download your data first. Before deleting, export your guest list, RSVP responses, budget, and any other data you might want to keep.
Consider just unpublishing. If you just want to take your site offline after the wedding, unpublish it instead of deleting your account. Your data will still be there if you want it later.
Hosting is included. Basic includes 12 months, Standard includes 24 months, and Pro includes 24 months of hosting, so your site can stay live as a memory. You don't need to delete your account right away.
