WedSites was founded by Ayla Toyokawa, who brought together her passions for weddings, web design, and helping couples stay organized through their planning journey.
The founder's story
Growing up, Ayla was one of those girls who loved weddings, not in the typical fairytale Prince Charming way, but in appreciating the small and big details of what it takes to bring a beautiful event to life. She had one of those huge binders carefully organized and color-coded, full of wedding inspiration from various magazines (way before Pinterest existed).
As a geeky duo with a combined background in wedding coordination, web design, and software development, the founders were frustrated by the lack of intuitive wedding planning tools and hours spent researching while being constantly bombarded with unwanted ads and sales emails. They knew there had to be a more efficient, personal, and smarter way to plan a wedding.
