Cancellation and refund policy

WedSites' policies on cancellations, refunds, and the 14-day money-back guarantee if you need to stop using the service.

Understand WedSites' policies on cancellations, refunds, and what happens if you need to stop using the service.

The 14-day money-back guarantee

Most WedSites plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee. Within 14 days of purchase, you can request a full refund if the platform isn't working for you.

See money-back guarantee for complete details about this policy.

Requesting a refund

To request a refund:
1. Contact WedSites support within the 14-day window
2. Explain you want to use the money-back guarantee
3. Support may ask about your concerns (to see if they can help)
4. If you still want a refund, they'll process it

Refunds typically take 5-10 business days to appear in your account after processing.

After the 14-day period

Once the 14-day guarantee expires, sales are generally final. There's no refund available simply for changing your mind.

Exceptions might exist for:
- Platform failures preventing service use
- Major issues WedSites can't resolve
- Extenuating circumstances (at WedSites' discretion)

But the automatic guarantee only applies within 14 days.

Partial refunds

Partial refunds typically aren't offered. You can't use WedSites for several months, then request a partial refund because you didn't use all features.

The one-time payment covers access for your planning period, and usage level doesn't affect refund eligibility.

What happens to your data

If you request a refund:
- Your account reverts to the trial plan
- Your website goes offline
- Your data is preserved briefly in case you change your mind
- After a period, data gets deleted per data retention policies

Export your data before requesting refunds if you want to keep guest lists or website content.

Cancellation without refund

What if you want to cancel after the 14-day period but don't need a refund?

You can simply stop using WedSites:
- Your website stays live for the hosting duration included in your plan
- You can still access your dashboard during that period
- No additional charges occur (no recurring subscription)
- Eventually hosting expires and your site goes offline

Formal cancellation isn't necessary with one-time payment plans. Just stop using it when you're done.

Wedding postponement or cancellation

If your wedding is postponed or cancelled:

Within 14 days of purchase: Use the money-back guarantee for a full refund

After 14 days: No automatic refund. Contact support to explain your situation. They might offer options, but there's no guarantee.

Wedding is far in the future: Your hosting period still expires based on account creation date, not wedding date. If your wedding moves significantly later, you might lose hosting before the wedding happens.

Plan upgrades and refunds

If you upgrade from one plan to another, the upgrade payment (the difference between plans) has its own 14-day guarantee window starting from the upgrade date.

Your original plan purchase guarantee period isn't relevant anymore once you've upgraded.

Refunds for specific scenarios

Technical issues preventing use:
If the platform literally doesn't work for you due to bugs or technical problems WedSites can't fix, they may offer refunds even outside the 14-day window. This requires demonstrating the platform is actually unusable.

Accidental duplicate purchases:
If you accidentally purchase twice, contact support immediately. They can likely refund the duplicate.

Unauthorized charges:
If someone made an unauthorized purchase on your payment method, contact support and your bank/card issuer.

What's not refundable

Typically not eligible for refunds:
- Domain registrations (purchased through third-party registrars)
- Time already passed after the 14-day guarantee
- Changes of mind after the guarantee period
- Deciding you don't like certain features (after 14 days)
- Not using features you paid for

Extenuating circumstances

Genuine emergency situations (death, serious illness, catastrophic events) might qualify for special consideration even outside normal refund windows.

Contact support to explain your situation. They'll review case-by-case, though there's no automatic policy.

Refund processing time

Once approved:
- Refund processes within a few business days
- Money returns to your original payment method
- Bank processing takes additional time (typically 5-10 business days)
- Credit card refunds appear as credits on your statement

Total time from approval to seeing money back: roughly 1-2 weeks.

Disputes and chargebacks

If you have a refund dispute with WedSites:
- Contact support first to resolve directly
- Escalate through proper channels if initial support doesn't help
- Chargebacks through your bank/card issuer should be last resort

Chargebacks can result in account termination and potentially affect your ability to use WedSites in the future.

Automatic renewals?

WedSites uses one-time payment, not automatic subscription renewals. You won't be automatically charged after your hosting period.

If extended hosting options launch, they'll require explicit opt-in. No surprise charges.

Account deletion

Want to delete your account entirely?

Free accounts or accounts past their hosting period can typically be deleted on request. Active paid accounts might have limitations on immediate deletion (you paid for the service period, deletion doesn't create refunds).

Contact support for account deletion requests.

Transferring accounts

Accounts typically can't be transferred to other people. You can't "sell" your WedSites account or give it to another couple.

What to do before canceling

Before requesting cancellation/refund:
1. Export your data (guest lists, RSVP responses)
2. Save screenshots of your website if you want memories
3. Download photos you uploaded
4. Contact support about any issues, since problems might be solvable

Once cancelled and refunded, you lose access to everything.

Getting help before canceling

If you're considering cancellation because:
- Something doesn't work: Contact support, they can help
- You're confused: Documentation and tutorials might solve issues
- Missing a feature: Ask if it exists, it might just be hard to find
- Changed wedding plans: Explain your situation, support might offer options

Give support a chance to help before canceling entirely.
