Managing guest households
Learn how to link guests to households so they can share addresses, RSVP together, and receive a single invitation to their shared address.
Households let you group guests who live together, like couples, families, or roommates. When you link guests to a household, they share an address and can RSVP together.
Assigning a guest to an existing household
- Go to Guests in your main navigation
- Click on the guest
- When adding a new guest, click Add to existing household
- When editing an existing guest, click Edit household
- Select the household from the dropdown
- Click Save guest
Creating a new household from a guest
If the household doesn't exist yet, you can create one right from the guest form:
- Click on the guest
- Find the Household dropdown in the Details section
- Click Create new household
- Fill in the household details (name, address, country)
- Click Save guest
The household is created automatically and the guest is linked to it.
Removing a guest from a household
- Click on the guest
- Find the Household dropdown in the Details section
- Change or clear the household assignment
- Click Save guest
The guest will no longer be part of that household, but the household itself stays in your system.
What households give you
Shared address. All guests in a household share the same mailing address. Great for sending physical invitations.
Group RSVPs. When one person in a household RSVPs online, they can respond for everyone in their household at once. Any household member can RSVP on behalf of the entire household.
Individual emails. Even though guests are in the same household, each guest can have their own email address. This is useful when you want to send communications to each person individually, or when household members have different email preferences.
Contact fallback. If a guest doesn't have their own email or phone number, the household contact info shows as a placeholder in their form. But you can always add individual contact details for each guest.
Children setting. Each household has a "RSVP for additional children" toggle. When enabled, it says "Allow guests from this household to add their children when they RSVP on your website."
Viewing household members
Click on any guest, then look at the Household dropdown in the Details section. You can see which household they belong to and change it if needed. To see all members of a household, go to Households and click on the household name.
Tips
Name households clearly. Use last names or a descriptive name like "Smith Family" or "Apartment 4B." It makes it easier to find them later.
One household per address. If two guests live at the same address, put them in the same household. This avoids duplicate mailings.
Don't worry about single guests. You don't have to create a household for every single guest. It's mainly useful for people who live together.
