Setting guest side

Learn how to assign guests to each partner's side or mark them as mutual friends to help balance your guest list and manage seating arrangements.

The side field lets you track which partner invited each guest. This can help balance table arrangements and keep things fair when you're working out the guest list.

The three options

  • Both sides - This guest is a friend of both partners, or you just don't want to assign a side. This is the default.
  • [Partner 1] side - Guests invited by the first partner
  • [Partner 2] side - Guests invited by the second partner

The side names in the dropdown match whatever couple names you've set up in your wedding settings. So if your names are "Alex" and "Jordan", you'll see "Alex side" and "Jordan side."

How to set it

  1. Go to Guests in your main navigation
  2. Click on the guest
  3. In the Details tab, find the Side dropdown
  4. Pick the right side
  5. Click Save guest

Filtering by side

You can filter your guest list by side to see how the numbers are looking for each partner. This is great for making sure the list feels balanced.

Bulk updating sides

Select multiple guests with the checkboxes, click Edit guests, and assign them all to the same side at once.

Tips

Don't overthink it. Lots of couples don't bother with sides at all, and that's totally fine. Just leave everyone on "Both sides."

It's just for your planning. Guests never see which side they've been assigned to.
