How do I password protect my website?

Keep your wedding website private by requiring guests to enter a password or log in to view your content.

Short answer: Go to Site > Builder > Site settings to enable guest authentication for your website.

Enabling guest authentication

  1. Go to Site > Builder
  2. Click Site settings
  3. In the General tab, find Require guest authentication
  4. Toggle it on
  5. Select an authentication method: Check in or Access code
  6. If using access code, enter the code in the Access code field
  7. Click Save

Guest authentication vs password protection

Password protection:
- One shared password for all visitors
- Simple to set up and share
- Anyone with the password can access

Guest authentication:
- Guests log in with their name or email
- You control exactly who can access
- Guests must be on your guest list to view the site

Making specific pages private

You can make individual pages private while leaving others public:

  1. Go to Site > Builder
  2. Click on the page tab you want to make private
  3. Click Page settings (gear icon)
  4. Click Make private
  5. Optionally, configure which guests can see the page based on event invitations
  6. Click Save

Tips

  • Choose a memorable password that's easy to share
  • Include the password in your save-the-dates or invitations
  • Guest authentication is more secure but requires guests to be in your system
  • Test the login experience yourself before sharing with guests

Sharing with guests

When your site is password protected, let guests know:
- In your save-the-date emails
- On your printed invitations
- In a text or message when you share the URL
