Merging duplicate guests
Learn how to combine duplicate guest entries into a single record, especially useful after importing or when multiple people manage the guest list.
Accidentally added the same person twice? Maybe once from a CSV import and once manually? No worries. You can merge duplicate guests into a single entry.
How to merge guests
- Go to Guests in your main navigation
- Select the duplicate guests using the checkboxes (you need at least 2 guests selected)
- Click Merge guests in the bulk action bar
- Choose which guest record to keep as the primary
- Confirm the merge
The merged guest keeps the primary record's details, and the duplicate is removed.
When to merge
After importing. If you imported a CSV and some guests were already on your list, you might have duplicates.
Different spellings. "Rob Smith" and "Robert Smith" might be the same person.
Multiple entries. Sometimes when multiple people are managing the guest list, the same person gets added twice.
Tips
Check before merging. Make sure the guests you're merging are actually the same person. Once merged, you can't undo it.
Select exactly who to merge. You can only merge 2 or more guests at a time. The Merge guests button only appears when you have at least 2 guests selected.
Review the result. After merging, click on the remaining guest to make sure all their details look right.
