Tips for using Zoom sections

Test your link. Click the link yourself to make sure it works and goes to the right meeting.

Set a password if needed. If your Zoom meeting requires a password, include it in a paragraph section near the Zoom button.

Add context. Use a paragraph or heading section before the Zoom button to explain what it's for and when the livestream will be.

Include the time. Make sure guests know when the meeting/livestream starts. Add this info in a nearby section.

Consider time zones. If you have guests in different time zones, mention what time zone you're using.

When to use Zoom sections

Virtual weddings: If your whole wedding is online.

Hybrid weddings: In-person wedding with a livestream for remote guests.

Pre-wedding events: Livestream your rehearsal dinner or welcome party.

Thank you events: Host a virtual thank you party after the wedding.

Including meeting details

Guests will need to know:

What time the meeting starts (use a timeline or paragraph section).

The meeting password if you've set one.

Whether it's video/audio only or if they should be prepared to be seen.

How long it'll last so they can plan accordingly.

Add this info in sections near your Zoom button!

Editing an existing Zoom section

  1. Go to Site in your main navigation
  2. Click on the Zoom section
  3. Update the meeting link or button text
  4. Click Save changes

The new link replaces the old one.

Using recurring meetings

If you have multiple events and want to use the same Zoom link:

Create a recurring meeting in Zoom.

Use that link for all your Zoom sections.

Explain the schedule in nearby text so guests know which event is when.

Customizing Zoom sections

You can also customize:

Space above and below: Adjust padding around the button.

Colors: Button colors usually come from your theme.

Privacy: Make the section visible to everyone or just certain guests.

These options are in the section editor.

Security tips

Use a password. Don't let random people crash your wedding! Set a Zoom password.

Enable waiting room. This lets you control who joins.

Lock the meeting. Once all your guests are in, lock it so no one else can join.

Assign a host. Have someone other than the couple manage Zoom settings during the event.

Alternatives to Zoom

Using a different platform? You could:

Use a link section for any meeting platform (Google Meet, Teams, etc.).

Use a button section if you want a bigger, more prominent link.

Use platform-specific sections if WedSites has them (like YouTube Live or Facebook Live).

Zoom sections make it super easy for guests to find and join your livestream. Just one click and they're there!
