Editing page header image

Add, change, or remove the image that appears at the top of a page to set the visual tone.

A header image appears at the top of your page, setting the tone before guests even start reading. You can add, change, or remove header images for any page!

What a header image does

Creates visual impact. A beautiful photo welcomes guests to the page.

Sets the mood. Beach photos for travel pages, venue photos for event pages, etc.

Breaks up text. Adds visual interest to your site.

Personalizes each page. Different pages can have different vibes.

How to edit a page header image

  1. Go to Site in your main navigation
  2. Find the Pages section
  3. Click on the page you want to edit
  4. Look for Header image or Cover image setting
  5. Upload a new image or select from your existing images
  6. Click Save changes

The header image updates on that page!

Choosing header images

High quality. Header images are big. Use high-resolution photos.

Right dimensions. Wide images work best. Super tall or square images might get cropped weird.

Relevant to the page. Travel page? Show your destination. Story page? Show you two together.

Not too busy. Simple images work better as backgrounds.

Good contrast. If your theme overlays text on the header, make sure the text is readable.

Common header image uses

Home page: Your favorite engagement photo.

Travel page: The city skyline or venue exterior.

Events page: Inside the venue or ceremony location.

Our Story page: A candid photo of you two.

Photos page: Maybe no header here since the whole page is photos!

Tips for great header images

Test on mobile. Header images might crop differently on phones. Make sure the important part is visible.

Consider text placement. If your theme puts the page title over the header image, make sure there's space for it.

Keep it relevant. Don't use a beach photo on your winter wedding page unless the beach is actually part of your wedding!

Watch file size. Really huge image files slow down your site. Compress images before uploading.

Removing a header image

Don't want a header on a particular page? You can remove it:

  1. Edit the page settings
  2. Find the header image field
  3. Click remove or delete the image
  4. Click Save changes

The page will show without a header image. Your theme determines what shows instead (maybe just your page title, maybe nothing).

Header image vs. background image

Header image: Shows at the top of the page.

Background image: Can show behind your entire page content.

They're different settings! Some themes let you use both.

Per-page customization

Each page can have its own header image. Your home page might have one photo, your travel page a different one, and your events page another. Mix and match!

Or use the same header image across all pages for consistency. It's up to you!

Theme compatibility

Header images look different depending on your theme. Some themes show them full-width, others contain them. Some overlay text, others don't. Preview your page to see how your theme handles headers!

Updating header images

You can change header images anytime! Swap in seasonal photos, update with professional shots after your engagement session, or just change your mind about what looks best.

Header images are an easy way to add personality and visual interest to your wedding website!
