What happens when hosting expires

Wondering what happens if you don't extend? Here's exactly what changes and what stays the same when your hosting period ends.

Short answer: Your wedding website goes offline and guests can no longer visit it. Your account is marked for deletion and will be permanently removed from our servers within 12 months. You can extend hosting at any time before deletion to bring your site back online.

What goes offline

When your hosting expires, guest-facing pages are no longer accessible. This includes:

  • Your wedding website (all pages)
  • Your RSVP form
  • Save the date and invitation ecards
  • Any other pages your guests would visit

Guests who try to visit your site will see a simple "website unavailable" message.

What stays accessible

After your hosting expires, you can still:

  • Sign in to your dashboard
  • Preview your wedding website while signed in
  • Extend hosting to bring everything back online

Account deletion

When your hosting expires, your account is marked for deletion. Accounts marked for deletion will be permanently removed from our servers within 12 months. If you extend hosting before your account is deleted, your site and all your data will be fully restored. Once an account has been permanently deleted, it cannot be recovered.

How to bring your site back online

  1. Go to Settings > Hosting
  2. Choose a hosting extension (1 month or 12 months)
  3. Complete payment

Your site comes back online immediately after payment. There's no waiting period and no setup needed.

Email reminders

We'll send you reminders before your hosting expires so you have plenty of time to decide. You'll receive emails at:

  • 14 days before
  • 7 days before
  • 3 days before
  • 1 day before
  • On the day it expires

Each email includes a direct link to extend.

Tips

  • If your wedding is coming up and your hosting is about to expire, extend as soon as possible so your guests don't lose access to your site and RSVP.
  • If your wedding has passed and you're not sure whether to extend, keep in mind that your account will be permanently deleted within 12 months of expiry.
  • Consider exporting your guest list and RSVP data before hosting expires if you want a local copy.
